Biography

Keith Sweat worked in a variety of genres and built up a diverse and reputable career. He had an early role on the television special "Grammy Legends Show" (1990-91). A regular on the awards show circuit, he made an appearance on "The American Music Awards" (1988-89). He worked in series television while getting his start in acting, including a part on "The Soul of VH1" (1990-92). During his budding acting career, Sweat also contributed music for the Ken Wahl action film "The Taking of Beverly Hills" (1991) and the Whoopi Goldberg comedy "Made in America" (1993). In the nineties, Sweat devoted his time to various credits, such as "New York Undercover" (Fox, 1994-98), "The 1996 Billboard Music Awards" (Fox, 1996-97) and "Blue Streak" with Martin Lawrence (1999). In the nineties through the 2010s, Sweat lent his talents to projects like "Roll Bounce" (2005), "Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married?" (2007) starring Tyler Perry, "A Thousand Words" with Eddie Murphy (2012) and "The Watch" (2012) starring Ben Stiller. Sweat also acted in "Love Magical."
